One of the game modes in Star Wars Kinect is basically Dance Central and there are contemporary and classic songs with Star Wars lyrics.

“I’m Han Solo”, based on Jason Derulo’s “Ridin’ Solo”.

I just don’t even know what to do anymore.

suztacular:

My friend Andy’s extremely accurate doodle. My favorite is lounging Garrus at the bottom haha

It should be noted that Andy actually works at Bioware SF, haha.

I beat Mass Effect 3 four hours ago and have been talking about it with people since. Felt like 10 minutes has gone by.

Not happy. Not angry. Frustrated at execution and delivery, confused by story. There is a really convincing theory about the ending that appears to be the only way I can accept this now. If this theory isn’t true, the game’s ending is kind of an ultimate fuck-up.

Still, the lack of closure has really thrown me off balance and I am sitting here, bewildered. Any action I can think of (play a different game, watch some TV, etc) feels completely foreign.

Legion: “Shepard-Commander has placed faith in us. We do the same for Normandy.”
Liara: “You mean the Normandy’s crew?”
Legion: “We do not see the need for distinction.”

Believe it or not, this damn gun still needs calibrating.
Garrus Vakarian, Mass Effect 3

This is important to me because I believe this is the first time a videogame has made me cry out of sadness. I imagine I’ve teared up before at stuff, but I was scrunchy-faced, blurry-visioned, snotty-nosed crying.

I dunno. I know I’m a huge sap in other media about crying but it’s somewhat nice to know that a game has finally done this for me amid all these stupid “Can videogames make you cry?” questions in the industry. One could argue that the reasoning is the same used in books or movies, in that it was a narrative device instead of a result of a game mechanic, which is true. This is a step in the right direction, though, one that will end with emotion as a result of how you are interacting with the game at the core mechanic level and what that will result in. I think the thing that really makes videogames stand out is that of all other media, games are (or rather, should be) the only one where the player is the actual author. Games are about crafting an experience for the player to find a purpose on their own.

Ramblings. Sigh. Guess I’ll return to ME3 now.

Mass Effect 3 just made me ugly cry. Like, LOST cry. Downton Abbey cry.

I am literally taking a break for 30 minutes or so before I continue playing.
